Announced today: SpaceX was one of two companies awarded the Commercial Resupply Service contract by NASA, meaning that we will be replacing the Space Shuttle on cargo missions to the ISS after the shuttle retires in 2010. We share the contract with Orbital Science Corp. We have been contracted 12 missions for $1.6bil. (Orbital got 8 missions for $1.9bil).

For now it is just cargo, but I look forward to the day when SpaceX joins America, Russia, and China in the great adventure of manned space exploration.
Oh yeah, and it's about to get really busy...
